A narrative adventure game set in the Star Trek universe. Star Trek: Resurgence tells the story of First Officer Jara Rydek and Engineer Carter Diaz, tasked with solving a mystery of two conflicted civilizations.
Star Trek: Resurgence is a narrative adventure game set in the titular sci-fi universe. It was developed by Dramatic Labs, an independent studio founded by former members of well-known Telltale Games.
Star Trek: Resurgence is set in 2380, shortly after Star Trek: The Next Generation. Its main protagonists are First Officer Jara Rydek and Engineer Carter Diaz, serving aboard U.S.S. Resolute. They end up coming across a trail of a mystery involving a conflict between two civilizations. How their adventure will end and what impact they have on the world depends on our actions and choices. The game features brand-new characters as well as those already iconic to the Star Trek franchise.
Star Trek: Resurgence is a third-person game (TPP). To progress the storyline, the player must talk to NPCs and complete objectives. Along the way there are decisions to make, which affect the characters' views of us and the further course of the story.
Star Trek: Resurgence runs on the Unreal Engine and the proprietary Beanie engine.

Xbox Achievements: 75 / 100 by Richard Walker
A robust and engaging mission, Star Trek: Resurgence does the iconic sci-fi saga justice with an intriguing original storyline that slots neatly into the series' lore, offering interesting and likeable characters, choices that feel like they matter, and its fair share of twists and turns. Engage.
COGconnected: 82 / 100 by Jaina Hill
Of all the possible stories to tell in the wide universe of Star Trek, Resurgence picks a good one. It takes place in the “present” of the story, and while it has some fun with cameos, it doesn’t overdo them. It presents a galaxy in a time of uneasy peace, and a diverse Federation crew. I would certainly recommend Resurgence to anyone who loves Star Trek. If you’re a curious non-Trekkie well, how much can you tolerate quick time events? Because by the ancients there are a lot of them. But this reviewer didn’t mind one bit.
Nintendo Life: 7 / 10 by Gavin Lane
Star Trek: Resurgence is a modest enterprise, but Dramatic Labs did a stellar job of capturing the qualities of the show, specifically its '90s era, with all the strengths and weaknesses thereof. As with the show, technically, you may notice some rough edges, but the creators have worked wonders with their resources. The visual novel stylings here suit the material, and it's got it where it counts, with excellent writing and performances across the board.Non-Trek fans won't get half as much out of it, and you may not be tempted to go back for a second playthrough. But if the current crop of Trek shows isn't quite scratching your itch, Resurgence does a great job of transporting you back a generation.
