Steven Universe: Attack the Light! is a mobile turn-based RPG. The game was developed by Grumpyface and it is a premium production, without any microtransactions.

Story

As the title suggests, the game was created on the license of an American animated series Steven Universe, produced and broadcast by Cartoon Network. For the fans of the franchise, the project is a great treat, because the creators of the TV original played an active role in its production.

Like the series, the game tells the story of a boy named Steven Quartz Universe, the weakest and only male member of a group of superheroes known as Crystal Jewels. The plot of the game revolves around an ancient weapon, which, according to legends, can summon an army of light. As a result of Steven's mistake, the power of the artifact is activated and seven luminous warriors emerge from it. Their existence is a threat to the whole light, so the task of capturing the fugitives falls on the shoulders of the boy and superheroes who are friends with him.

Mechanics

Steven Universe: Attack the Light! is a dungeon-style crawler style RPG. While playing, the player leads a party and explores the labyrinths, searches for treasures, avoids traps, progresses characters and, above all, battles hordes of enemies. The combat system is turn-based and each character has a unique fighting style and a set of special skills, the efficient use of which is often the key to victory.

On top of that, there are slight arcade elements. While executing attacks, the player can draw gestures on the screen, which allows them to increase the strength of the techniques. For more experienced players there is the so-called Diamond Mode with a much higher level of difficulty and additional bonuses rewarding the effort put into completing a mission.
