Stormworks: Build and Rescue PC

Stormworks: Build and Rescue is a special services simulator, in which we design vehicles and go on rescue missions. The game was created by a small independent Sunfire Software studio, and the release was taken care of by Green Man Gaming.

Plot

In the game, we play the role of an emergency services worker. We start as a newcomer, who is gradually climbing the career ladder, which involves more and more opportunities, but also responsibilities, which, with the experience gained, will be much more demanding.

Mechanics

Stormworks: Build and Rescue is divided into several game modes with the possibility of single and multiplayer play. The first mode is Career Mode, which involves completing role-playing missions and a limited number of components needed to create different types of machines. The second mode is Creative Mode, which limits access to resources and allows players to freely create vehicles. In both of these modes, players have the ability to activate a special difficulty level - Survival Mode; then any wrong decision can lead to our death, especially the very dangerous become fire and fall injuries, too long staying at sea resulting in a cold, the impact of the pressure of water and sharks. And if you want, you can use the prepared mission editor to create your own adventures.

The game puts a lot of emphasis on building vehicles. These are divided into sea, air and land, such as boats, helicopters, submersibles and snowmobiles. The building process is performed by placing blocks in the wizard and modifying them according to the task ahead. These, among other things, may be connected with rescuing people from fire, water, repairing oil platforms and stopping oil spills, or managing the machinery of a nuclear power plant. After the vehicle is ready, we can test its capabilities on 15,000 square kilometres of water and land surface.

The game has a day and night cycle and variable weather conditions, during which we can test the durability of our works.
