Vehicle Building Game Stormworks Popularity Surges Thanks to DLC and Discount

With a discount and release of the new expansion, the engineering game Stormworks has set a new activity record on Steam.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  • The Search and Destroy expansion for Stormworks has been released;
  • In parallel, a discount on the base game was organized;
  • As a result Stormworks has set a new activity record on Steam.

The first DLC for Stormworks: Build and Rescue, the arcade rescue simulator from Sunfire Software, has been released. The expansion is titled Search and Destroy and it's a non-standalone expansion, so the full version of the game is required to play.

The DLC can be purchased on Steam for less than $10. On the occasion of its release, the creators have organized a discount on the base game. Can now be purchased for less than $20, which is 20% cheaper than usual. The discount will end on October 12.

Discount and launch of Search and Destroy clearly served the game's popularity. Thanks to them Stormworks: Build and Rescue set a new activity record on Steam. The day before yesterday, at the hottest moment of the day, 6802 people played the game at the same time.

The Search and Destroy expansion focuses on adding weapons to the game. We get new cannons, machine guns and missiles. There is also a ton of additional handheld weapons, including a pistol, machine gun, grenades and C4.

Basic version of Stormworks focuses on building machines and using them in rescue missions. Therefore, so that we could make full use of the arsenal added by the DLC, the expansion also introduces a new type of mission, where we fight against the AI for control over the islands in a large-scale virtual war.
