Mechanics

The player controls a ruthless killer trapped in an alternate dimension, using his new supernatural abilities to build up his position anew. Through his telekinesis, Vecna is a major threat to the Upside Down and the human world, grasping, crushing and throwing his enemies.

His abilities let him haunt the minds of the franchise's characters, making them subservient to his will and forcing them to carry out his order. We can also look into Vecna's memories too, during his time in Hawkins Lab, while he was discovering the supernatural hive mind.

During the final battle, though, the controlled character can oppose Vecna's will, using powers contrasting Vecna's. The player also decides when to open or close the interdimensional portal, though they must take potential consequences into account, as things can go south very easily.

Technical aspects

Stranger Things VR features simplified 3D visuals and a color palette dominated by black and muted colors.
