Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League combines the features of action adventure game and TPP shooter in an open world and focuses on online co-op mode. The game was developed by the experienced Rocksteady studio, authors of the Batman: Arkham series. The game is based on the comics in the DC Comics universe.

Plot

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is set in the same universe as the Batman: Arkham series, as part of the Arkhamverse. The game continues the storyline of previous Rocksteady Studios games. However, the game takes the players not to the dark Gotham, but to the New York-based Metropolis, a rich city inhabited by Superman.

The main characters are Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark. Deadly explosives have been implanted in their heads and they have been forced to join the infamous Task Force X, also known as the Suicide Squad, commanded by Amanda Waller. They must set out on an extremely difficult mission to save the Earth and kill the greatest superheroes from the Justice League. In the plot, which is driven by characters, an important role is played by the evil Superman, who ended up on the target of the Suicide Legion.

Hogwarts Legacy Needs New Seasons and Activities More Than Suicide Squad Does

Hogwarts Legacy is not a bad game, and one you'd want to come back to - if it had new content. Suicide Squad will have new content, but one doesn't necessarily want to check what kind. Could it be that the publisher, common to both productions, got the genre selection wrong?

Suicide Squad is an utterly dour and painful experience. Hearing Tara Strong’s Harley voice is like nails on a chalkboard and never stopped making my skin crawl and I hoped somebody would throw acid in her face.

I'm optimistic about what Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League can become, but let down by what it is now.

TheGamer: 2.5 / 5 by Stacey Henley

I didn’t hate Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaague, but that’s only because it’s hard to feel anything too strongly about a game like this. This might be the most rinse and repeat a game of this stature has ever rinsed and repeated, and the fact it delivers good interpretations (though not Arkham accurate) of established characters is its only saving grace. With each new bundle of content likely to be low on narrative and chock full of the same missions (probably with a new name that play exactly the same way), it feels like Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is only going to get worse from here.

The main pros of the game

  • Movement Mechanics: The traversal system is well-received, with players enjoying the unique movement styles of each character, making exploration of Metropolis engaging.
  • Voice Acting and Motion Capture: The performances, particularly by Kevin Conroy as Batman, are praised for their quality. The facial animations and character expressions are noted as impressive.
  • Graphics: The game is visually appealing, with many users appreciating the detailed environments and overall aesthetic of Metropolis.
  • Co-op Gameplay: The ability to play cooperatively with friends adds a layer of fun, making the experience more enjoyable for some players.

The main cons of the game

  • Repetitive Gameplay: Many users criticize the missions and combat as monotonous, with limited variety leading to a dull experience over time.
  • Weak Storyline: The narrative is described as lacking depth and coherence, with major plot points feeling rushed or poorly executed. The writing is often seen as cringeworthy or unfunny.
  • Combat Mechanics: The gunplay and combat system are viewed as generic and uninspired, failing to meet the high expectations set by Rocksteady's previous titles.
  • Performance Issues: Numerous players report optimization problems, including frame drops, crashes, and long loading times, detracting from the overall experience.
  • Clunky UI: The user interface is criticized for being cluttered and difficult to navigate, which can hinder enjoyment.

The features or elements that are missing from the game according to users

  • Variety in Missions and Enemies: Users express a desire for more diverse mission types and enemy encounters to break the repetitive gameplay loop.
  • Character Development and Interaction: There is a call for deeper character arcs and meaningful interactions, especially given the rich lore of the DC universe.
  • Improved Combat Mechanics: A more engaging and innovative combat system is desired, as many feel the current mechanics do not utilize the potential of the characters effectively.
  • Single-Player Focus: Some players believe the game would have benefited from a stronger single-player narrative experience rather than the live-service model that emphasizes multiplayer and repetitive tasks.

Summary

  • Overall, while "Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League" has elements that some players enjoy, such as movement and graphics, it is largely criticized for its repetitive gameplay, weak story, and performance issues. Many users recommend purchasing the game only at a significant discount.
