Sword and Fairy, also known as The Legend of Sword and Fairy or Chinese Paladin, is a series of Chinese RPGs with a xianxia theme (fantasy strongly inspired by mythology, culture and philosophy of the Middle Kingdom), launched in 1995. The series was created by Softstar, which took care of it until the second decade of the 21st century, when other entities took over the baton. The Sword and Fairy 4: Remake described here is a thoroughly refreshed version (remake) of its fourth main installment released in 2007. The game was developed by UP software studio, while its release was handled by CubeGame.
In Sword and Fairy 4: Remake we watch the action from a third-person perspective (TPP). During the game, we traverse a variety of locations forming a fantastic land and gradually push the plot forward.
Combat with opponents plays an important role here. Clashes take place in turn-based mode, and during them our team and its opponents face each other. As was the case, for example, in the bestseller Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, success on the battlefield is ensured not only by skillfully juggling the abilities and attacks of our subordinates, but also by demonstrating agility and reflexes. We need the latter to efficiently parry enemy attacks or perform successful evasions.
Sword and Fairy 4: Remake tells the story of Yuna Tianhe, a young man who, accompanied by Han Lingsha, sets out on a journey around the world to uncover the mystery of his deceased parents' past. Along the way, they are joined by two other characters, namely Liu Mengli and Murong Ziying.
