A refreshed version of the popular point & click adventure game from Microids studio. Syberia Remastered introduces greatly improved graphics, including brand new character models. Other improvements include a more modern user interface, better controls and modified puzzles with more logical solutions.
Syberia Remastered is a refreshed version of the cult point & click adventure game, originally released for personal computers in 2002 (over time it also appeared on a number of other platforms). The remaster is the result of a collaboration between the creators of the original, namely Microids studio, and the French team Virtuallyz Gaming.
While working on Syberia Remastered, the developers primarily focused on the graphic design, thoroughly refreshing it. The environments have been improved and rebuilt. Efforts were made to maintain artistic consistency with the original and the remaster was overseen by the famous Benoit Sokal. In addition, the character models have been refreshed.
This is not the end, as the creators have also redesigned some of the original puzzles to increase the fluidity of the gameplay and make the solutions more intuitive. Both the interface and the control scheme have been modernized.
In Syberia Remastered we play as Kate Walker - a lawyer from New York who arrives in one of the Alpine villages to finalize the sale of an automaton factory. Following the trail of Hans Voralberg, the inventor trying to find the last living mammoths on the titular island shrouded in legend, the protagonist embarks on a journey that leads her through the snow-covered Eastern Europe. The female protagonist is not alone, as she is accompanied by a humanoid automaton named Oscar.
The adventure in Syberia Remastered takes us through various locations - from the Alpine village of Valadilene to the ice-bound Russian wastelands. As we explore them, we engage in conversations with the characters we encounter and solve puzzles that require us to interact with objects and search for specific items, as well as use them in a specific way.

Syberia Remastered review: A hit of nostalgia that may not land with everyone
If you enjoyed Syberia in 2002, this is the best way to experience it again. If you’ve never heard of Syberia before this, it might not hit the same way. There is a compelling story, world, and cast of characters at the heart of Syberia - Remastered, however, it’s hard to recommend to everyone. Not all modern players will have the patience to get through Kate Walker’s clunky movement, the puzzles that will have you repetitively running back and forth, and the easy-to-miss objects and interactions that will frustrate you and slow you down. This is certainly the ultimate way to play Syberia now, but I’m not sure everyone will want to.
This week, games such as Syberia Remastered, Football Manager 26, Tavern Keeper, Long Drive North, Dead Static Drive, Whiskerwood, and version 1.0 of Voidtrain will be released on Steam.

A beautiful story that didn't get a perfect refresh. The creators could have tried harder.

Syberia Remastered masterfully blends a classic foundation with modern technology, faithfully honoring Benoît Sokal's original creation. While it has its minor imperfections, the game stands as a remarkable achievement by the development team. This beloved classic now breathes anew, introducing its unique world to a new generation. The original could have lived a long life on its own, but this Remaster brings it one step closer to eternity.
