Managing a metropolis is no easy task, especially when the resources necessary for its smooth functioning are becoming a scarce commodity. Realizing this, the people in charge of the futuristic world depicted in Technotopia decided to create an advanced AI to transform the last relatively stable city into a thriving utopia. During the course of the gameplay we play the role of this artificial intelligence, and it is on our shoulders to carry out this mission.
The described production is a work from the borderline of card games and strategy. Behind its development is Yustas Games Studio, an independent Russian development team based in Tomsk, specializing in casual projects.
In Technotopia we view events from a bird's eye view. The production puts at our disposal a deck of cards with buildings and other structures, the construction of which we have to take care of. We are talking about roads, skyscrapers or residential districts, among others.
In doing so, it is necessary to keep in mind the limited resources necessary for the operation of the city. In addition, attention must be paid to the needs of the forces shaking this emerging utopia, namely capitalists, aristocrats, politicians and ordinary citizens. Since each of these groups seeks dominance over the others, and their demands may conflict with each other, one must strain to treat them each r?wnly.
In addition, in the city you will find hackers, oligarchs, criminals and inventors, who are also worth taking care of. By fulfilling their whims, we gain allies who can help us maintain order.
To top it all off, we have to respond to various situations and crises and make related decisions. We are talking, for example, about finding shelter for fire victims or cracking down on gangs prowling certain neighborhoods. In such situations, we can either listen to one of the parties advising us, or seek our own solutions.
