The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters is a survival horror adventure action game. We take on the role of a young girl who wakes up at night in an abandoned school and realizes that she is being hunted by a murderess who reminds her a teacher. The production was developed and released by the Korean independent studio Devespresso Games (the authors of the first part, as well as the roguelike RPG under the title Vambrace: Cold Soul).
In The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters we take on the role of Mina Park - a student of Sehwa High School, who wakes up one night in school, not knowing why she is there. The girl quickly realizes that something is wrong and a dangerous psychopath, strangely similar to a well-known teacher, is lurking in wait for her.
The action in The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters is observed from the side, from the side-scroll perspective. The game consists mainly in exploring available locations (we move around the school and the nearby Sehwa district), talking to characters, solving puzzles and discovering the plot.
Hiding is very important during the game - death comes easily, so the heroine cannot betray her position. Mina also faces challenges that can result in permanent damage. To survive, we need to be smart, and we need objects. The game has a crafting system, that allows you to create the things you need from the parts you find, so you can prepare for different situations. New tools can also allow us to get to places that were previously inaccessible; the game is a bit like a production belonging to the sub-genre of metroidvania.
In The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters we can only play alone. The basis of the game is a feature campaign.
The Coma 2: Vicious Sisters has an attractive, two-dimensional graphic design, based mainly on hand-drawn charts and figures. The artistic style refers to Japanese comics, but is subdued and quite realistic. The game is characterized by a heavy, dark atmosphere, reminiscent of Asian horror films.
