The Guest is a PC-based FPP adventure. It was developed by the Spanish Team Gotham studio, known for its Cooking Time mobile puzzle game.

Story

The action of the game was set in the 80s of the last century. The main character is Dr. Evgueni Leonov - a Soviet scientist with a full of secrets of the past and considerable mental problems, at least some of which are caused by a strong addiction to various drugs. During the campaign, the state of his mind will gradually deteriorate, which will affect his perception of reality.

The story begins when Leonov decides to spend the night in a neglected hotel. After waking up in the middle of the night, the protagonist discovers with horror that someone has removed the handles from his room. The first task is to get out of this room, but after its completion it quickly turns out that the interior of the building is completely abandoned, and for this at every step there are numerous obstacles waiting to stop the scientist inside.

We Got This Covered: 3 / 5 by Joshua Kowbel

The Guest tests an array of mental abilities throughout the three hours it lasts. But when buying into “a first-person exploration game,” you don’t expect this many plot holes.

ActionTrip: 7.3 / 10 by Keri Honea

The Guest does drive that mansion-horror vibe quite well, but by the end, you can’t help but feel like you missed something crucial, like Leonov’s past perhaps. I’m really looking for any reason why he’d suddenly seem totes okay with being kidnapped, when the rest of the game makes it seem like he’d definitely not.

Cubed3: 5 / 10 by Ofisil

Unless willing to experience a, somewhat flawed, cult piece of adventure game history that oozes with spookiness, The 7th Guest is not really a big recommendation, especially after so many years, as it's basically a series of puzzle mini-games; mini-games that lack a "connection" to the game world, and which are of mixed quality.
