A spin-off of the popular series from Nintendo. The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom allows us to play as Princess Zelda and our task is to save Link and other inhabitants of Hyrule. We use the Tri Rod gadget to clone items and enemies to have them fight for us.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is an arcade-logic game and a spin-off of the best-selling The Legend of Zelda series. The development and release of this game was overseen by the Nintendo company, which is in charge of the brand.
In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom we play as Princess Zelda herself. After Link, the main protagonist of the series, managed to save her from Ganon, he was pulled into a mysterious rift. As it turns out, such rifts in space-time began to appear throughout Hyrule and cause the disappearance of other characters.
The fairy Tri unexpectedly lends a helping hand to the protagonist and gives her an artifact known as the Tri Rod, which can clone elements of the environment. The princess sets off on a journey to investigate the new mystery of her kingdom, to ward off danger and save the affected residents of Hyrule.
In The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, we see events from a bird's eye view. The game focuses on solving environmental puzzles and other problems encountered along the way. We deal with them using objects cloned with the Tri Rod - the copies are called echoes.
They allow us to overcome terrain obstacles, get to hard-to-reach places and neutralize opponents. Interestingly, the artifact allows us to duplicate not only specific objects such as stools or boulders, but also nature elements (which allows us to create water blocks), and even adversaries.
Enemies must first be defeated before they can be cloned, but it is still a good tactic since a copied enemy can fight on our side.
The graphic design of The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom was maintained in the cartoon style known from The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening.

While Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom successfully brought exciting new concepts to Nintendo's iconic series and helped revolutionize open-world games – Echoes of Wisdom feels like a big step forward for classic Zelda. The game is a punchy cocktail of old school Zelda, expertly blended with modern mechanics from the series’ two open-world giants. As a result, Nintendo has created something that feels both nostalgic and uniquely fresh. It may have taken 38 years for the series's titular princess to finally get her own game, but boy was it worth waiting for. Echoes of Wisdom not only demonstrates that Nintendo is capable of wowing Zelda fans, but it can breathe new life into its legendary series. Echoes of Wisdom is a resounding success, a masterclass in creativity, and a worthy debut title for the series’ legendary princess.

The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom is a bold and largely successful experiment in evolving the 2D Zelda formula in a charming and refreshing way. Here’s to hoping we get more entries with our titular heroine in the limelight!

The Legend of Zelda is at its best when the series genuinely commits to its new ideas. For better and for worse. Albeit rough around the edges, Echoes of Wisdom is a valiant first attempt at giving Princess Zelda her own game and steering the series back to familiar territory. Grezzo has the perfect foundation to build a masterpiece sequel off of. DLC could also offer some harder dungeons and better combat options to round out some of Echoes’ main flaws. Even if a follow-up never happens, Echoes of Wisdom is very much worth playing and a fun experience more often than not. But this is a concept too good to only use once. It would be an honest to Goddess shame if Zelda didn’t get another adventure all to herself. Just have Link teach her how to use a sword for next time first.
