The Political Machine 2024 is a cross between a strategy game and a simulator, allowing us to fight for the office of the President of the United States. It was developed by Stardock, being part of a recognizable series, mentioned on MSNBC, CNBC, FOX News and Nightly Business Report. The series also accurately predicted the results of the 2004 and 2016 presidential elections.

Mechanics

Each playthrough of The Political Machine 2024 begins by choosing one of several candidates. These include Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Bernie Sanders and Ron DeSantis. Each candidate has their own stats (like endurance, intelligence, charisma, media attitude) and personal views. The player can also create their own candidate from scratch, setting their stats and choosing their ideology. Afterwards, we must convince our party to nominate us for the upcoming election. Only then can we start fighting for presidency proper.

In order to gather ideology points, which let us assign specific ideas and projects to ourselves, we must take part in political events, interviews, create spots, promo materials and hire PR professionals. We must also constantly react to the latest events, such as natural disasters and scandals, both against us and our competitors. The mood of the voters in specific states is also important - the developers have carefully examined individual regions in terms of their problems and demographics, trying to realistically reflect the modern American political landscape.

If we so desire, we don't need to play fair. We can try to discredit our opponents by using Political Action Cards. These are special actions we can use to help our standing in the polls or harm our opponents.

All this is expensive, so we must always keep an eye on our campaign budget. When the funds run out, we can obtain additional financing, but we must be careful - if the sources are dubious and our voters find out, they could stop trusting us, which may cost us dearly.
