The Sims 3: Not from this world is an official extension to the bestseller life simulation of The Sims 3. The addition was produced by EA The Sims Studio's development team and enables the transformation of Sims into beings endowed with supernatural powers (vampires, werewolves, witches, zombies, etc.), and also introduces many elements from classic horrors and horror stories.
The Sims 3: Supernatural is the answer of EA The Sims Studio to fans of the series The Sims requests who demanded the introduction to the game some elements referring to the popular horror films, especially the vampire saga Twilight. Although the possibility of transformation into a vampire appeared in the expansion called The Sims 3: Late Night, the developers decided to give players the opportunity to incarnate also in other characters with supernatural powers.
The most important element of The Sims 3: Supernatural is the possibility to transform Sims into vampires, werewolves, witches, fairies, wizards and even zombies. Those creatures gain not only the specific attributes of appearance (for example teeth, thick hair, distinctive clothing), but they also receive proper magic skills, unique characteristics and interactions.
The expansion introduces to the game a new location – the Moonlight Falls city - full of haunted houses and dark secrets. There were also added new items (including magic), career paths (a mystical fortune-teller, a master of alchemy and others) and special attractions like racing on broomsticks or invasion of the living dead.
One of the more interesting solutions which has been implemented in The Sims 3: Supernatural is the ability to prepare magic extracts, which can help you in making a career or dropping extra pounds. The extract can also trigger a zombification - the transformation into a living corpse. You can also share the extracts with other players using social features.
From the visual point of view the expansion does not diverge from the standards of the series. The creators of the expansion were clearly inspired by popular movies like Twilight saga, American Werewolf, The Witches of Eastwick or Night of the Living Dead. Despite the dark subject matter and subdued colors, the characters and objects are funnier than frightening.
