Timothy vs the Aliens for PS4 is a 3D action game. It was developed by indie studio Wild Sphere, founded in 2014. The studio is known for several other productions, including the platform game Naught Reawakening, but Timothy vs the Aliens is their most ambitious project so far.

Plot

You play as a gangster named Timothy. His quite odd task is to organize and lead a resistance against the terrifying Aliens, who destroy everything in their path.

Mechanics

Timothy vs the Aliens is a blend of a platformer and an action game. The developed introduced no revolutionary mechanics, so the gameplay is rather standard. You traverse the open city, full of enemies and obstacles. Timothy is quite agile and can jump on platforms, use firearms, and even drive a car. During the game, you encounter increasingly stronger aliens, but also find better weapons, such as machine guns, shotguns, and Magnums. The game also features elements of black comedy and gangster movies.

Technical aspects

The game features unusual visuals, as they are mostly black and white, like in e.g. Inside. However, you can also see other colors in the game, as the enemies, projectiles, and even some levels are e.g. yellow and green.
