An indie 2.5D simulator by a German studio neoludic games, in which we run a mobile bookshop. Tiny Bookshop lets us leave all troubles behind, selling used books in a charming seaside town.
Tiny Bookshop is a 2.5D bookshop simulator developed and published by an indie German studio neoludic games. It received the Most Charming Game award and two nominations during 2022's Indie Cup event.
The game is set in a charming seaside town, where we open a small bookshop. We must manage our business, acquire books of different genres and establish contact with Bookstonbury's residents, slowly becoming part of their community.
Tiny Bookshop largely focuses on bookstore management. Our shop is small and mobile, selling used books. It doesn't have a fixed location, therefore it's up to us where it will be moved. We also decide how to arrange the books on the shelves and how to decorate its interior. Decorations can be found by visiting various locations.
Each resident of the city has their individual taste and preferences. To satisfy as many readers as possible and expand our circle of regular customers, we must stock our bookshop with books of different genres. Players can interact with the townspeople, make friends, help them with their problems and discover their backstories.
The game's stylized visuals make use of the isometric perspective, making them seem three-dimensional. The color palette is subdued, yet appealing.

Game Ratings for Tiny Bookshop Video Game.
Cloud Dosage: 3.9 / 5 by Jon Scarr
Tiny Bookshop is a cozy game with a calm shopkeeping loop, real-world books, décor perks, and interactions with Bookstonbury’s locals. Ten locations and seasonal events keep the routine varied, while decorating and matching genres add a small touch of planning. The slow pace suits the atmosphere, though repetition and random stock can limit progress. Its steady rhythm and small moments make running the shop satisfying.
The Punished Backlog: 9.8 / 10 by Amanda Tien
Tiny Bookshop is Neulodic's first game, and I honestly can't believe it. It feels like a master class in cozy gaming, but even then, saying that feels reductive. This is a great game, period. The only gamers who wouldn't like this are people who A) hate books, B) hate reading, C) prefer to be stressed out all the time while playing video games, and/or D) just don't want to be happy. If you love cozy games, then play Tiny Bookshop. If you've always been curious about cozy games, then play Tiny Bookshop. If you need something good to believe in, then play Tiny Bookshop.
Nintendo Life: 8 / 10 by Oliver Reynolds
I often found myself going to put the game down before stopping myself to see what might happen the next day. Kind of like a great book.
