One of the first stages of Russia's armed assault on Ukraine, which began on February 24, 2022, was the Battle of Hostomel. It began with a pr?empt to rapidly seize Kyiv with an airstrike, which failed and led to fighting for the city that lasted more than a month.

In the weeks that followed, the area changed hands, and the invaders finally abandoned it on April 1, 2022. Nonetheless, it was to these events that the Russian studio Cats Who Play decided to dedicate its real-time strategy (RTS) propaganda game titled Ukrainian Warfare: Gostomel Heroes.

Gameplay

In Ukrainian Warfare: Gostomel Heroes, we view events from a bird's eye view. During the gameplay, we take control of the aggressor's troops (buzzingly referred to as "heroes") and lead them over the course of successive operations. The Ukrainians (called "terrorists" by tw?rc?w) are not a playable side of the conflict.
