Moving cities is a concept that, although not particularly often exploited in popular culture, is occasionally reminded of itself. One of the works making use of it is Wanderburg, an action game with roguelike elements from independent German studio Randwerk, in which we control a castle on wheels.
In Wanderburg, we view events in an isometric view. We start the gameplay with a relatively small object at our disposal, and our goal is to make it not only an unconquerable fortress, but also an unstoppable siege machine. To do this, we must "devour" wandering herds, villages, and consequently r? also other castles smaller than ours.
At the same time, we must not allow ourselves to be "eaten" by those larger than ourselves. Defense is made possible both by recruited troops (such as knights on bicycles), and by modules and structures that increase the combat potential of the castle itself, which we unlock over the course of successive approaches.
As we progress, we can enrich our castle with, among other things, towers with archers, artillery positions or spires on which battle mages reside. Our combat potential is also increased by captains recruited over time and artifacts we acquire.
The graphic design of the Wanderburg game is kept in a cartoonish style.
