Wanderlust: Travel Stories is a text adventure in the convention of an interactive travel journal. The production was developed by an independent Polish studio Different Tales, and its release was taken care of by the company Walkabout.
Wanderlust: Travel Stories consists of four long stories and five short stories. The heroes of each of them are travelers who visit various corners of the world. During their journeys around the world, our protégés are sent to twenty-one countries on six continents, including Bangladesh, Congo, Papua New Guinea and the Faroe Islands.
Wanderlust: Travel Stories has a simple gameplay mechanics. The game takes place at a slow pace; by reading successive fragments of the story, we not only follow the current fate of the characters, but also learn about their current reflections and their past. In addition, during the game we often make decisions that affect the fate of individual characters. It is worth paying attention to the level of protagonists' fatigue and the condition of their wallets, as well as remembering that the choices we make affect their well-being.
Wanderlust: Travel Stories has a cost effective graphic design. The stories are enriched with photographs, illustrations and animations presenting the places on the map and the circumstances in which our charges are at a given moment. It is worth mentioning separately the rich sound layer and the fact that the dialogue line of the game consists of more than three hundred thousand words.
