We Grew Up in War is a point-and-click adventure game in which we follow three intertwined stories of children growing up in conflict zones in Ukraine, Bosnia, and Syria. This indie project was created as part of the Mementoes project, funded by the European Union, in collaboration with Charles Games studio (creators of Attentat 1942 and Svoboda 1945: Liberation) and the War Childhood Museum in Sarajevo. It bases its narrative on the memories of real people.

Gameplay

We Grew Up in War consists of twenty interactive scenes with diverse gameplay. There are mini-games connected by narration. We fight with imaginary monsters, color a drawing, sort supplies, struggle with daily difficulties in the shelter, or spend time with friends among the rubble.
