Working with NPCs

NPCs in Horizon Forbidden West may accompany you on certain quests. Companions will warn you of dangers, give you ideas on how to defeat the machines, and provide you with ammo pouches. It is worth noting here that in Horizon Forbidden West, friendly fire is disabled, so you cannot injure your companions.

Sometimes, a companion can be knocked down by an opponent. Then a distinctive icon will appear above his head, indicating that the NPC needs help. You can walk up to the ally and help them get up or wait for them to do it themselves.
