Herbalism

The best way to grow wealthy in Kingdom Come: Deliverance is not that obvious and can be easily overlooked - How to quickly gain money in Kingdom Come Deliverance? - FAQ - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

The best way to grow wealthy in Kingdom Come: Deliverance is not that obvious and can be easily overlooked. It's Herbalism. Although collecting and selling plants require certain preparation, as soon as you get through this stage, you will have a steady income.

Crucial information on Herbalism:

  1. Herbalism is one of Henry's skills and you can develop it by gathering flowers and plants. Collectable items can be found across the entire world map (forests, fields, roadsides etc.) and you don't have to worry that you will collect all the available plants in the game world. You can ALWAYS find more.
  2. At first, Henry will collect only one plant per interaction. At that point the skill is far from being profitable as one plant won't grant you even 1 penny. You need to be patient and reach new levels of Herbalism. Every time you reach a new one, Henry will automatically collect more plants (of the same type) with a single interaction. Thus, a single herb-picking will give you several or several dozen plants. Try to reach level 10 or higher in Herbalism as quickly as possible

  1. Each plant you collect weights around 0.1 pound, which means that you can quickly reach your inventory capacity (exceed your lift capacity). There are two ways to solve this "problem". You can place unnecessary items in your hero's chest or temporarily place some of your plants in the horse inventory. It's good to have a mount that can carry a lot of items, but even your good old Pebbles can make a significant difference. Collected plants can be put back to Henry's inventory when you decide to get rid of them.
  2. Once you collect enough herbs and flowers, it's time to finally sell them. Keep in mind that not every merchant will be interested in purchasing your plants, but usually it doesn't take long to find one. You can sell them to apothecaries, alchemists, unspecialized merchants and certain blacksmiths (e.g. one from the Talmberg village). At first, selling your herbs will earn you "only" several dozen pennies, but you can easily reach 100-200 pennies once you reach further levels and start gathering more plants. Some of the plants that you come across can be very valuable - these include St. John's Wort (0.8 penny), Wormwood (2.2 pennies) or Sage (1.2 penny). If you come across such plants, you should remain in that area for a little longer and search for more herbs around you.

Additional tips and suggestions:

  1. Every merchant has limited amount of gold. Luckily, it's not a major problem. A merchant can hold in his inventory from several hundred to several thousand pennies. Besides, even if he spends his entire gold to purchase your plants, you can always visit a different merchant and sell the rest of your herbs. You could also invest your pennies right away and e.g. buy new armor/weapons from the same person, or pay a skill trainer.
  2. It's highly recommended to develop your Speech, as it allows you to haggle better. This way you can get dozen or several dozen more pennies when selling your herbs. Start haggling by always saying that you want 1/4 more gold than what a trader offers you. Lower your price a little bit if that person refuses to pay what you want.
  3. Developing your Herbalism skill can also improve some of your attributes. This should make you want to focus on this particular skill even more. Reach level 1 to unlock a passive Resistance perk which increases your Vitality by 2. Other useful perks are Flower Power (gives you a +2 Charisma bonus if you have got enough fragrant herbs in your inventory) and Leg Day (Herb-picking activity will add experience to your Strength stat too).

Thieft, selling legally, selling illegally, completing quests and minigames

Other ways to get additional gold - How to quickly gain money in Kingdom Come Deliverance? - FAQ - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

Other ways to get additional gold:

  1. Theft - in chests and pockets of NPCs you can most of all find gold. The harder the minigame, the greater chance of finding large quantities of gold (even a few hundred pennies). This method also enables you to find various items but don't sell them immediately to local traders as they are considered as coming from the illegal source. This might make you accused of theft. One of the solutions to this problem is moving far away to a different location where selling the item won't cause any suspicion.
  2. Selling legally obtained items - legally obtained means item you haven't stolen (they have no special icon in the inventory). This includes items obtained by exploring the world or from defeated enemies (each killed person should have at least one melee weapon and a set of armor).
  3. Selling illegally acquired items - you don't have to travel to a totally different part of the land to sell stolen goods. You can visit a fence. To find out more you should meet with Miller Peshek, who will give you a side quest The Good Thief. If you steal a specific ring, you can take it to Woyzeck, who will fence items for you and can offer more illegal tasks. Later on, you can visit other fences, such as Miller Simon from Sasau. Apart from stolen goods, you can sell them pelts and meat obtained through hunting (e.g. boar meat is very valuable).
  4. Completing quests - optional quests and activities are usually awarded with gold, although sometimes the rewards might be different (or there might be none). Information about potential rewards can be found in the walkthrough.
  5. Participating in minigames - you might gain money by participating in fist fights, horse fights or playing dice. In the latter case you should previously create manual or automatic save state as luck is very important in this game.

Unique method for From the Ashes DLC expansion

If you have installed the From the Ashes expansion, you can also use the method described below. It requires a lot of preparation, but after you take care of it, you will be able to "generate" any amount of gold.

As part of completing quests in From the Ashes DLC expansion you must contribute to reconstruction of Pribyslawitz village - How to quickly gain money in Kingdom Come Deliverance? - FAQ - Kingdom Come Deliverance Game Guide

As part of completing quests in From the Ashes DLC expansion you must contribute to reconstruction of Pribyslawitz village. After you have built the most important buildings and the village starts to earn money, you can rely on Pribyslawitz as an unlimited source of funds. Namely, you can visit the village every day and take the gold that you have earned from governor's chest. You can streamline the whole process by unlocking a perk called Contemplative (picture 1), which is one of the elements related to advancing to the high levels of experience. The pattern of the "gold mine" procedure is as follows:

  1. Position yourself next to the chest with the gold in Pribyslawitz.
  2. Switch on the rest/wait option (accelerating the time) and make a jump 24 hours a day (picture 2).
  3. Remove the gold from the chest that the village has earned in the last 24 hours.
  4. Repeat step 2, so use the Time rest option again.

Thanks to the Contemplative perk Henry will not be tired or hungry. You can use the wait option as many times as you want. Depending on what income the village is able to earn, you can earn 1000-2000 gold for a single "jump in time".
