Alan Wake 2 will be a third-person shooter, just like the first installment. We also know that Matthew Porretta will once again lend his voice to the main character, and Ilkki Villi will be used as the character's model. Such information was provided on Twitter by Sam Lake, creative director and writer at Remedy Entertainment.
While not a huge surprise, fans took the news positively. Porrett was perfect as Alan Wake in the first installment, and he confirmed his skills as Dr. Casper Darling in Control. Third-person shooter gameplay is somewhat of a standard for Remedy games, but players are still excited.
"I'm glad you guys aren't changing the best elements of the game. I got attached to Alan Wake played by the duo of Matthew Porretta and Ilkka Villi. I also have to say that it's thanks to your works that I've grown fond of third-person gameplay. Max Payne was one of the first games I ever played," tweeted user Feelin_good_91.
Alan Wake 2 was officially presented at this year's The Game Awards and lived to see the first trailer. The game is scheduled to be released in 2023, and will arrive on PC (Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
