One Baldur's Gate 3 player boasted of a build that makes his character essentially immortal.

It's been almost two years since Baldur’s Gate 3 was released. During this time, the community had the opportunity to thoroughly understand the systems, mechanics, and possibilities offered by the Larian studio game. So, it's no wonder that some players are starting to push the boundaries of the title by creating builds that are not only impressive but also close to "breaking" the game.
One of such feats was presented by a player going by Sebastiplant_. He boasted on Reddit about the configuration of his character, who seems to be untouchable (via MeinMMO). The character with the expressive name "thou shall not hit" has an impressive armor class (AC) of 56. For comparison: the value of 17 is the base level, guaranteed by the armor it wears.
How come? The player used the maximum number of modifiers - from spells through items to class abilities - to boost the statistic to a level at which the character becomes practically untouchable. In the D&D system, which BG3 is based on, the opponent must "break through" the armor value with the result of an attack roll. The character with 56 AC is basically untouchable - even with huge bonuses, the only real chance to hit them is by rolling a "20" on a twenty-sided die, which always guarantees a successful hit. However, the chance for this is only 5%.
As if that wasn't enough, the Sebastiplanta_'s character wears a helmet that nullifies critical hits, so even those few attacks that could threaten their life lose their potential to do greater damage.
Such an "indestructible" warrior not only endures everything but also discourages artificial intelligence from fighting. In Baldur’s Gate 3, enemies are programmed to avoid attacking characters with an AC higher than 25. This means that they often won't target you, at least as long as your companions are still alive.
In the comments under the player's post, it's mentioned that theoretically it's possible to reach an armor value of 70, but it's purely for show and doesn't have much practical use. The community unanimously claims that opponents become powerless once AC reaches 33. Sebastiplant_ thus proves that even two years after the Baldur’s Gate 3 release, players can still surprise with their creativity and determination in exploring the boundaries of the game's systems.
