Necromancer's Reveal in Baldur's Gate 3 Raised Many Questions

Baldur's Gate 3 will enable us to take on the role of a necromancer, summoning the dead to our aid, but the developers are still leaving players without many answers about how this character class will work.

Premiere of Baldur's Gate 3 is fast approaching, so it's no surprise that the developers from Larian Studios are regularly sending new information about their upcoming RPG. Recently we learned that the third Baldur's Gate is to be a truly massive work - players will have to spend between 75 to 100 hours to complete it (just the main story) if the developers' assurances are to be believed.

The last tidbit that Larian Studios shared on TikToku concerns the necromancer.

Necromancer up close

Published the day before yesterday, a short video shows a close-up view of a female representative of this subclass of sorceress, followed by a flock of undead. The six-second footage bears the caption: "when you use the necromancer's powers to take your spooky pals on a lil' obstacle course."

In fact, the corpses following the necromancer are fairly adept at getting around the barriers, but many questions about this subclass of characters remain unanswered.

For example: how will we control our undead herd in battle - will we control a single corpse per turn, or all of them at once?

Or: will NPCs react in some way to the sorcerer followed by a herd of undead minions? In the video, you can see that there is a single NPC among the zombies, who does not seem very happy with their presence.

Players in the comments under the video express curiosity about the necromancer:

" [Does anyone know - ed. note] what playing a necromancer will be like in Baldur's Gate 3? Will it be as much fun as in Divinity 2?," asks user hadyisagi.

"Going through the world of Baldur's Gate 3 as a necromancer badass will be the best experience ever," concludes user Jacob.

As you can see, the necromancer is getting a lot of attention, despite the many unknowns about how the magic school will look like in general.

We will find out for ourselves very soon - the PC version of Baldur's Gate 3 will be released as early as August 3. PS5 owners will have to wait until September 6.
