Battlefield 2042 Enhances Gameplay Experience With Better Responsiveness

Electronic Arts has revealed details of patch 3.1.0, which is available for Battlefield 2042 as of today. The update primarily improves responsiveness of gameplay.

Starting today all owners of the shooter Battlefield 2042 can download update 3.1.0. In connection with this, an extensive note appeared on the game's official website, detailing the contents of the patch.

Update 3.1.0

The patch offers, among other things, a redesign of the Manifest map and three new weapons (M416, M240B, M93R) from the Vault. It is also worth noting that the animations for taking out/holstering weapons, aiming through iron sights and sprinting have been improved to be more responsive.

Below are some selected elements that have been improved in patch 3.1.0 for Battlefield 2042 (a detailed list can be found here).

  • Added bloody mist elements to regular body and head shots on soldiers to better illustrate that the shot was accurate.
  • Improved responsiveness when transitioning to movement from standing still.
  • You can now dynamically change the zoom level of the minimap using a keyboard shortcut.
  • Clearer hit responses to improve the shooting experience.
  • Enabled all ribbons at 40% XP value.
  • Doubled the XP limit for challenges, but each challenge gives 50% less XP.
  • Improved the fire rate of several weapon types.

It is worth mentioning that despite the numerous improvements brought by the new update, players still complain of problems with high processor load during gameplay. Considering that this affliction has been plaguing the game for a good few months now, it is surprising that DICE still hasn't found a solution for it.

Promising future

It's worth mentioning that the developers' announcement included information about another event that will apparently appear in Battlefield 2042 in the near future. It will last three weeks, each of which will bring a new mode and fresh cosmetic elements. However, this will come only after patch 3.2, which will be released early next year. It will introduce a character class-based system to the shooter and changes to the maps, including the Split. The patch will also add the fourteenth and final specialist to Battlefield 2042.

It seems that all of DICE's efforts towards improving Battlefield 2042 are bearing fruit. The number of players is steadily increasing, and the devs recently confirmedthat the shooter will receive Seasons 4 and 5.
