This isn't likely to be the return of the Dead Space series that fans expected. After all, an event dedicated to the horror series is heading to Battlefield 2042.
Battlefield 2042 will soon receive another update that will introduce a special, time-limited event. It will be dedicated to another famous game series from Electronic Arts, specifically Dead Space. The latest installment of BF's ongoing 7th season will feature an Outbreak mode, themed around well-known science fiction survival horror games.
EA provided very little information about the discussed event. In Battlefield 2042, we will encounter hordes of dark creatures, similar to Dead Space. Our team, made up of people, "may become the last line of defense for humanity." The event dedicated to the horror series will last from July 9 to 16.
Below, you will watch a teaser of the upcoming game mode in Battlefield 2042. It reveals that the game will include skins resembling the characteristic armor from Dead Space - most likely paid ones - and special weapons.
It probably goes without saying that the biggest fans of this horror series weren't expecting a brief crossover with a dynamic, online shooter, but rather new information about the next full-fledged installments of the series. The fate of the remake of Dead Space 2 is still uncertain.
By the way, let's bring up some rather unfortunate news for BF players. Electronic Arts is closing the servers of - for some people certainly cult - three installments of the series. On November 4, online modes in Battlefield 3, Battlefield 4, and Battlefield: Hardline will stop working on PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles. Then the games will also be removed from digital stores on those platforms.
