X-Men '97, a sequel to X-Men: The Animated Series from years ago, turned out to be quite a hit, which not only satisfied fans of the 1990s animated series, but also attracted new viewers. Beau DeMayo and his team managed to create a truly successful production that tells an engaging story and presents the adventures of the X-Men at a high level that hasn't been seen from many Marvel productions for some time. Unfortunately, season 1 of X-Men '97 will soon come to an end, and although work is already underway on season 2, we will have to wait a while for it.

Meanwhile, ahead is the 3-part finale of X-Men '97, in which the X-Men will face their greatest threat. The fate of this battle will determine the future of all mutants.

The showrunner of the TV show, Beau DeMayo, revealed which episodes of X-Men: The Animated Series are worth watching before the finale to prepare well for it. They are:

  • The Final Decision (Season 1, Episode 13)
  • Sanctuary, Part 1 and 2 (Season 4, Episodes 3 and 4)
  • One Man’s Worth, Part 1 and 2 (Season 4, Episodes 9 and 10)
  • Descent (Season 5, Episode 9)

So if you want to be ready for what's to come, it's worth watching these 6 episodes before the 3-part finale of X-Men '97, the first episode of which will be made available this week. X-Men: The Animated Series episodes are about 25 minutes long, so it won't take long to watch these few and you can make it out before May 1.

The final episodes of X-Men '97 season 1 are titled Tolerance Is Extinction.
