At today's Nintendo Direct show quite a few upcoming games for Switch were presented. One of them was the long-awaited sequel to Breath of the Wild from 2017. The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is scheduled to debut on May 12, 2023. Nintendo keeps its word on the release; the single delay from 2022 to spring 2023 is the only one so far.
The new footage from the game shows a bit of gameplay, including Link climbing and flying on a giant board. For some time now we have known that the skies of Hyrule will be an important area of gameplay in Tears of the Kingdom. New techniques for moving through the sky or levitating islands above the ground (seen in the new trailer) are the hallmarks of the sequel to Breath of the Wild. Unfortunately, at today's Nintendo Direct nothing more was presented or said regarding the game. So for a while we will have to make do with this short footage.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom will be a title exclusive to the Nintendo Switch console.
