DUST 514 steps aside for a redesigned PC online shooter.
News from CCP
  1. PS3 DUST 514 is closing up on May 30th;
  2. The studio is working on a new Unreal Engine 4-based online FPS for PC;
  3. The new game will be an evolution of Project Legion MMOFPS;
  4. More info will show up at EVE Fanfest, April 21st.

In a post on the game’s forum, Crowd Control Productions announced the imminent closure of DUST 514 servers. This PlayStation 3 free-to-play online shooter will say goodbye to players on May 30th 2016. You can still play it until then, but the expected patch 1.3 is not going to come out. Also, all PSN purchases for DUST 514 have been blocked to prevent players from investing in a game that is about to get dumped.

The upside for us is that CCP Shanghai has started working on another sci-fi FPS set in the universe of New Eden (known from EVE Online and EVE: Valkyrie) that will be heading for PC. The upcoming game, the title of which remains a mystery for the moment, is going to be an evolution of Project Legion that was announced in 2014 as an open-world MMOFPS, and will retain some key elements of DUST 514. Plus, the new game is to be powered by Unreal Engine 4. More information on that production will be revealed during this year’s EVE Fanfest on April 21st.
