CD Projekt published its financial results for 2024. The Witcher 4 is in full development, Cyberpunk 2077 exceeds 30 million copies sold, and the Group hits nearly one billion PLN in consolidated revenue.
The CD Projekt Group presented its financial results for 2024, once again confirming the strength of its main franchises. Despite the lack of new releases, the company achieved almost 1 billion PLN ($260 million) in consolidated revenues, and the net profit amounted to nearly 470 million PLN ($120 million).
You can read Piotr Nielubowicz's comments, CFO and board member, regarding the Group's report below. He pointed out that the net profit earned is the third highest in the company's history and the best in a period without a big launch.
Cyberpunk 2077 had a significant impact on the results of the CD Projekt Group. In November 2024, the game's sales exceeded 30 million copies, and the Phantom Liberty DLC sold over 8 million copies. The industry also recognized the excellent post-release support, awarding Cyberpunk 2077 the BAFTA for Best Evolving Game.
The game, as it was announced, will soon be released on Apple devices, which should allow it to reach a new group of recipients. Moreover, the studio confirmed a new animation set in the Cyberpunk universe, which will premiere on Netflix - while this isn't breaking news, the developers hint that "this is not the end" of their plans.
The biggest announcement of the company in 2024, however, was the news about the start of full-scale development of The Witcher 4, previously known as Project Polaris. The title was officially presented during The Game Awards 2024 in Los Angeles. The trailer for the latest installment of the series revealed that Ciri will be the main character, which, as Piotr Nielubowicz highlighted, received a "great" response. Thanks to the trailer, "the Witcher universe has been revived in the consciousness of players."
The mentioned trailer was also one of the most viewed among all those presented at last year's TGA, with nearly 10 million views on the IGN channel. In the end, the new Witcher also overshadowed the other titles showcased at the gala regarding how often it was mentioned in industry news - it was the game that was "talked about the most."
CD Projekt emphasizes that strong financial results enable the company to continue expanding and investing in new technologies. Despite record spending on game development and dividend payouts of 100 million PLN ($25 million), the studio increased its financial resources by 160 million PLN ($41 million).
