A very well received woolly cultist simulator, Cult of the Lamb, is a mix between a roguelike and base-building game. The title is not new, but the development doesn’t stop, and the creators are packing it with new content updates. In one of them, we have seen a crossover with Don’t Starve Together, while the most recent one entitled Sins of the Flesh adds more features, rituals, buildings, crashes, and black screen issues… wait, what? Yes, unfortunately some players experience such problems with the new update. The developers are most probably working on them right now, yet here we have found a workaround that can help you in the meantime.

Black screen and crashes in Cult of the Lamb explained

With the new update to Cult of the Lamb, Sins of the Flesh, many bugs have been fixed, though as with every patch, new ones were introduced. It seems that the black screen, that obviously makes the game unplayable, is mostly affecting Apple Mac players.

There have been many reports from fans stating that it happens on launch or during certain in-game activities related to the newly added content, yet the result is the same – black screen preventing further play.

Unfortunately, as reported by the players, usual fixing methods like verifying the game files, restarting the device, updating drivers, reinstalling the game completely, and others do not help. That doesn’t mean that there is nothing that can be done, as some cunning fans have found a method of working around it: when the black screen appears, try switching to another app using alt / command – tab key combination, waiting for about a minute and then going back to Cult of the Lamb.

There are also players who experience game crashes after the update. This often happens while they try to feed the cultists. Sadly, there is no fix for it now, but if such situation happens to you, then you should definitely report it to the developers via in-game pause menu. They are constantly working on improving the title, so the more information they get, the faster the fix should be created.
