After quite successful crossovers with Five Nights at Freddy’s and Tokyo Ghoul, DBD will be joined by characters from The Walking Dead universe. This will bring to the game two new survivors – Rick and Michonne – and their perks (with Last Stand especially interesting). However, that’s not all. Patch 9.1.0, which will accompany the release of the new Chapter, will also introduce many other changes. So, let’s talk about them.

Is Fallen Refuge a new map in DBD?

Probably the most confusing part of the chapter is a new map. If you want to play custom matches in PTB, you can choose Fallen Refuge as a fully separate location. However, when we deep dive into the patch notes, we will see that this in “Gameplay Area Expansion.” So, what does it mean? It is not a separate map, but a tile that can spawn as part of other Realms.

This answer still leaves us some questions. Will this be available on all maps? The post on X didn’t specify whether it will work in every realm. In PTD, Fallen Refuge is linked to the Withered Isle Realm, so possibly extension will appear only there. Regardless of the answer, it concerns me a little bit. Let’s remember that Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria is part of this specific world. The Walking Dead tile on FNAF map sounds like not a good idea.

Pyramid Head buff in DBD

Pyramid Head wasn’t particularly strong killer until now. Using his power required skill, and his add-ons were not that great. So, developers decided to buff him. Of course, there are also some nerfs to balance this boost. So, let’s check all changes connected to this character.

  1. Increased Punishment of the Damned's range to 10 meters (was 8).
  2. Increased maximum Rites of Judgement duration to 10 seconds (was 5).
  3. Increased Rites of Judgement trail lifetime to 90 seconds (was 75).
  4. Decreased Rites of Judgement movement speed to 4.2m/s (was 4.4).
  5. The inputs for Rites of Judgement, Punishment of the Damned, and sending a Survivor to a cage can now be held, starting the action as soon as it becomes available.
  6. Survivors who are rescued from a cage now gain 10% Haste and Endurance for 10 seconds.
  7. Increased Bloodpoint score for rescuing a Survivor from a cage to 2000 (was 550).

Additionally, developers reworked many of his add-ons.

Other changes in DBD 9.1.0

This is not all. Developers also prepared many other changes that will appear in the game with patch 9.1.0. So, what novelties will we see?

  1. Clown, Pig, Knight and Oni power and add-ons modifications.
  2. New item – Fog Vial.
  3. Maps and Keys rework.
  4. Changes in survivors’ perks. On the list we will find Potential Energy, Any Means Necessary, Better Together, Still Sight, Built to Last, Appraisal, Detective's Hunch, Déja Vu and Streetwise.
  5. Killers’ perks modifications. Changes include Insidious, Hubris, Dragon's Grip, Scourge Hook: Hangman's Trick, Overwhelming Presence and Franklin's Demise.
  6. Bug fixes.

You can find the full and detailed list of changes in the Patch Notes. If you want to test them right now, without waiting for the official release, you can join PTB on Steam.
