The Lord of the Rings Return to Moria is a survival game which takes place in the Middle-earth. During the game, you must take care to your character's condition. One of the needs is morale. If you do not take care of it, then a despair status will be applied. In this guide you will learn what this status do.

Despair in LotR Return to Moria

The Lord of the Rings Return to Moria has a morale mechanics. The small grey bar at the bottom left (you will find it under the light intensity bar) informs you in how good a mental state the character is.

Morale drops when you are in the shadow, so you can stay in the dark only for a limited amount of time. When the bar runs out, you will be affected by despair status, causing the bleeding that can kill you. You have to watch carefully that the bar doesn't fall too much.

To refill it, you must return to the light. Torch is the one of the first items that you should craft during the game. This tool will protect you from the darkness. The good idea is to set up torches along the most frequently used routes, so you won't have to hold them in your hand. In addition, it will be easier to navigate the underground.
