Diablo 4's Reception on Steam Improves Thanks to Free Access Period

Diablo 4 recorded unsuccessful debut on Steam. After a few sluggish weeks, however, the game's reception began to improve..

1. At the time of writing this article and counting only player reviews from the last 30 days, 71% of them praise Diablo IV, which is categorized as a "mostly positive" reception.
2. On the other hand, taking into account all reviews since the day of release, the share of positive ones is 65%, which Steam categorizes as "mixed" reception.
3. It should be noted, however, that immediately after the release only 58% of Steam reviews praised Diablo 4.

A large role in improving player sentiment seems to have been played by the free trial access launched three days ago, which will last until November 28. This offer definitely helped the game's popularity on Steam - yesterday it set a new activity record of 23,037 concurrent players.

Of course, these numbers will drop sharply after the free trial period ends, but looking at the number of positive reviews, the game appealed to the majority of players who checked out Diablo IV for free. Many of them are therefore likely to take advantage of the discount launched simultaneously on Steam:

3. Diablo IV - Ultimate Edition

Diablo 4 was released on June 6, 2023 simultaneously on PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. On Steam, in turn, the game debuted on October 17.
