Double Fine’s HeadLander to come out this month

Double Fine’s HeadLander - a retrofuturistic, side scrolling action-adventure game about a flying head - is coming out on July 26, 2016. The title will be available on PC an PS4.

A release date was revealed for HeadLander, the next game from Double Fine Production (the creators of Day of the Tentacle: Remastered, Broken Age, Brutal Legend, Psychonauts, and more). The title is going to come out on July 26, 2016 for PC and PlayStation 4. Along with this announcement comes a new trailer, featuring the wacky story of this retrofuturistic, side scrolling action-adventure game, as well as bits of gameplay.

HeadLander invites you to a retrofuturistic environment reminiscent science fiction movies from the 70s. You wake up in distopian world dominated by robots and controlled by an oppressive Artificial Intelligence. What is more, you discover that all that is left of your body is the head. However weird that sounds, you get to control the head of the protagonist, enclosed within a flying helmet. Interestingly, you can attach the head to any robot body you find, thus gaining unique abilities needed to defeat more powerful enemies or solve in-game puzzles. Visiti the official website of the publisher of HeadLander, Adult Swim Games, to find out more about the title.
