First reviews of Expeditions: Rome have appeared on the web. The game collects good ratings and so far is praised more than previous installments.
Tomorrow will mark the release of Expeditions: Rome. Many reviews have already appeared on the web and according to them Logic Artists has prepared a noteworthy RPG.
The game currently has an average rating of 80% on Metacritic. This is definitely the best score in the history of the franchise. In the case of Expeditions: Viking it is 74%, and Expeditions: Conquistador received 77%. Our reviewer is less enthusiastic about Expeditions : Rome, having rated it at 6.2/10.
Reviewers praise the polished and extensive gameplay mechanics, especially the combat system. The atmosphere of adventure and faithfully recreated historical setting also receive good reviews. Opinions are quite divided on the plot, but in most reviews interesting psychological portraits of characters are emphasized.
The main points of criticism are technical flaws and too slow gameplay (in some aspects). A frequently repeated complaint is the long wait for the enemy to make a move, especially on large maps. Additionally, in some missions it is required to clear the level of all enemies, which can be tedious.
Expeditions: Rome is coming exclusively to PC. The game will be released tomorrow, on January 20, 2022. You can check out the game right now thanks to the demo version available on Steam.
