GTA 6 is still far away, because as Rockstar announced at the end of the wildly popular trailer, which already boasts more than 126 million views, the game will debut in 2025. For now, we know that the title is headed for PS5 and XSX consoles, but that, as you can see, doesn't discourage some from seeking out a PC version here and now. This is being exploited by scammers who have created a fake installer, enticing with the logo of Rockstar's upcoming game and letting viruses into your computer.

Scammers are preying on the gullibility of impatient gamers

On some websites with bootleg games you can find the PC version of GTA 6, or at least that's what people who don't know that the title is scheduled to hit only PS5 and XSX may think, or are naive enough to believe that there was a leaked PC release. On Reddit a screenshot was published showing the installer window. In fact, it resembles the typical installers of one of the groups releasing pirated versions of games.

Unfortunately for a person tempted by quick access to the streets of the new Vice City, using such an installer may end up with letting malware onto the hard drive, that is, a file designed to steal data or damage your PC. In such a case, you need to get rid of all files coming from the installer as soon as possible, scan your hardware with an antivirus software and, or some more extreme cases, maybe even format the drive.

Fortunately, the danger can be avoided in a trivially simple way. All you have to do is not search for GTA 6 PC version. Rockstar usually releases its games on consoles first, and only after some time can PC owners enjoy them. Time will tell how it will be in the case of the latest installment of Grand Theft Auto.
