Rockstar Games was forced to release the GTA 6 trailer faster than it had planned! This was caused by a leak of the video to the Internet.
In an official press release Take-Two announced that GTA VI is currently heading exclusively to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The PC version was not mentioned.
"Grand Theft Auto VI continues our efforts to push the limits of what’s possible in highly immersive, story-driven open-world experiences,” said Sam Houser, Founder of Rockstar Games. “We’re thrilled to be able to share this new vision with players everywhere.”
It also includes a sentence about the game itself:
Grand Theft Auto VI heads to the state of Leonida, home to the neon-soaked streets of Vice City and beyond in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet."
Unexpected, irresponsible leaked of GTA 6's trailer forced Rockstar Games's hand to release it more quickly. The holiday, which had been scheduled for Tuesday, December 5, midnight., was brutally cancelled (it's not hard to sense the great regret in Rockstar's post on X), but the main course, which is the opportunity to see the first footage from GTA 6, awaits you below. You can taste it here:
The trailer, during which the songLove Is A Long Road performed by Tom Petty is playing, confirms at least some of the rumors and reports based on earlier leaks:
A key piece of information was left for last - the game will be released in 2025. Unfortunately, at the moment we do not know the game's target platforms. However, they will certainly be PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Will GTA 6 be released simultaneously on all of them? We will find out in the future.
The video is extremely popular - counting from the start of the countdown to the broadcast, that is, from Monday's midnight it has already gained 2.8 million "thumbs up" (more than was gained by GTA 5 trailer since its release) and more than 25,000 comments. The number of impressions is small (barely over 100 thousand), but this is probably due to their delayed counting. The statistics are constantly growing.
The leak, which took place half an hour before the official rushed release of the trailer, surprised Rockstar Games so much that the studio still hasn't even updated its official website with information about the video's release. It's unfortunate, but it's a particularly sad sign of just how much Rockstar didn't want this to happen. One can only hope that this is the last such case in the history of GTA 6 and further news and videos will hit the web when the developer wants them to.
