Fallout 4 Gone Painfully Realistic; Fan Project Transforms the Game
Fallout 4 takes on a new life thanks to the Real AI project. More difficult and realistic clashes with intelligent enemies add excitement to the challenge.
Fallout 4 mods have been revitalizing Bethesda's RPG for the past few years, making it new, dynamic and sometimes extremely realistic. Recently, a modder known as Thumblesteen created Real AI - mod, which makes comprehensive changes to NPC behavior in FO4. The project recalibrates hundreds of subroutines at the engine level, making enemies and other NPCs react in a much more intuitive and realistic way.
"As a result, snipers will actually shoot. Flanking NPCs will actually flank you. Buildings, shooting positions and environmental elements will become real for many residents of Fallout 4 and will behave more like living beings."
Real AI in Fallout 4 allows for more advanced enemy tactics
One of the biggest problems that the mod solves is the so-called "blinders" found in the NPC population in Fallout 4.

In the original version of the game, many enemies seem to react only when the player crosses an invisible threshold, activating their "awareness." With the Real AI mod, this artificial mechanism has been removed, and NPCs can now interact more naturally with the world around them.
"It replaces hard constraints with soft constraints To avoid the problem of 'superhuman NPCs,' many have been given weaker senses. So even though there have been changes, they are still not without limitations. Their perception now changes depending on things like distance, line of sight, light level and many other factors. They can be tricked, distracted, outsmarted, led astray and ambushed."
Thanks to this mod Fallout 4 becomes an exciting and realistic experience. Battles are more varied and challenging, and intelligent enemies provide a constant challenge for players. Fallout 4 - installing the Real AI mod via Vortex Mod Manager
1. Enable mod support in Fallout 4:
- Edit the game's ".ini" files by adding the line "bEnableFileSelection=1" in the [Launcher] section.
- Make changes to the "Fallout4.ini" and "Fallout4Prefs.ini" files located in the "My Games/Fallout 4" directory.
2 Install Vortex Mod Manager.:
- Download the program from NexusMods and install it.
- Run the program and select Fallout 4 as the supported game.
3. Download and install the Real AI mod:
- Go to NexusMods and download Real AI for Fallout 4.
- Click "Download with Manager" and VMM will automatically download and install the mod.
- Check the optional settings during installation.
4. Start the game:
- You can launch Fallout 4 directly from the VMM or by traditionally using Steam.
5. Enjoy the new experience:
- The Real AI mod will make changes to NPC behavior.
