Gal Gadot as Agent 007? Actress Candidly on What She Thinks About Fan Casting

Ever since Daniel Craig hung up his Walter PPK, the media and audiences have been relentlessly searching for a new replacement for the role of James Bond. And while the decision on who will portray Her Majesty's most famous agent will ultimately rest with the series' producers, that hasn't stopped fans from sharing their own favorites. And there has been a ton of them in recent months. Starting with Idris Elba, to Henry Cavill and ending with Richard Madden.

But is there room for a female candidate among these names? According to some viewers - yes. Gal Gadot, whom we can admire in Netflix's new movie - Heart of Stone.

In the course of promoting the movie, the Hollywood star took part in a special recording for GQ, in which she answered questions from fans. When reviewing the comments under the trailer of the said work on YouTube, the actress decided to address the opinion of one fan, who cast her in the role of a female Bond. Here's what she said:

Although the very suggestion of a female Bond is very intriguing, it is difficult to expect that in the coming years Agent 007 will be portrayed by a representative of the fair sex. The producers themselves have repeatedly emphasized that only men are being considered among the candidates.

So Gadot herself is left with a new franchise built around a female protagonist from the very beginning. Perhaps it will develop to the point that it will be a serious competitor to the James Bond series.
