Giant Alien Ship Heading Toward Humanity in Elite

Players of Elite: Dangerous have discovered a star-like anomaly that is most likely a giant alien combat vessel.

Some time ago an open war started between humanity and aliens in the universe of Elite: Dangerous. There are many indications that any moment now it will enter a new stage.

  1. The players have discovered a distant object of great size. It appears to be a star, but its shape resembles Thargoid ships.
  2. To make matters worse, the object is slowly moving toward humanity's territories.
  3. The most popular theory in the Elite: Dangerous community is that it is a new alien superweapon. The entity is sometimes referred to as the "Thargoid Death Star"., referring to the famous battle station from Star Wars.
  4. Adding flavor to the matter is the fact that the conflict escalated to an acute phase after humanity tried to neutralize the aliens with its own superweapon, which, however, proved ineffective.

It should be added that all these changes in the virtual galaxy apply only to the PC version. A few months ago, the devs informed that the console editions of Elite: Dangerous will not be further developed.

However, owners of the PS4 and Xbox One editions will be able to transfer their profiles to PCs and continue the game there. The devs have just announced that this option will be made available next month. September will also see the debut of a new version of the game on PC, called Elite: Dangerous 4.0. Importantly, it will also be available for those who do not have the Odyssey DLC, so they will get the opportunity to enjoy gameplay and engine improvements without having to purchase the expansion.
