Hellblade 2 on Behind the Scenes Video; Still a Long Way to Go

Ninja Theory representative revealed some details about the progress on Hellblade II: Senua's Saga during Xbox Games Showcase Extended. A behind the scenes video was also shown.

Tameem Antoniades, creative director at Ninja Theory, revealed a bit of information during a brief appearance at the Xbox Games Showcase Extended presentation, complementing the conference from E3 2021, about Hellblade II: Senua's Saga. From his words, it seems that there is still a lot of work ahead of the devs, who do not want to create an ordinary sequel, but "something extremely unique". As expected, the show presented well-made behind-the-scenes footage:

Action of Hellblade 2 will take place in 9th-century Iceland. The studio is sending skilled teams to the country to gain a better understanding of the terrain (using imagery and satellite data). What's more, real costumes are being made for the title and then scanned into the game. Developers are working on character mapping together with Epic Games (the new Hellblade is being created on Unreal Engine 5, in contrast to the prequel which ran on UE4).

For now, we do not even know the approximate release date of Hellblade II: Senua's Saga. The game is going to be available on PC, Xbox Series X, and Series S.. It will go straight to the Xbox Game Pass subscription on the release date.
