IN A NUTSHELL:
- Hitman 3 will need about 100 GB of disk space, while also offering the contents of the previous two parts;
- The game's graphics engine has been enhanced to support Screen Space Reflections. The upgrade will also be compatible with old missions.
One of the developers at IO Interactive announced in a thread on ResetEra forum that the upcoming Hitman 3 will require about 100 gigabytes of disk space on PC or console. This is relatively little, considering that the game will also include the two previous installments of the trilogy.
"One thing I think all of you will be happy to hear is that we have managed to get the size of the game down significantly. All three games with all content will take up around 100gb, "we read.
We can also expect improved graphics. Developers have upgraded the game's graphic engine, adding support for SSR (Screen Space Reflections). It's worth noting that the changes will be noticeable by playing both Hitman 3 content and missions known from previous parts. Many surfaces will now reflect the environment, which should have a positive impact on the in-game atmosphere.
"We upgraded the engine with screenspace reflections. Best thing? It's backwards compatible with the previous two games in the trilogy and lots of surfaces has been upgraded," writes the dev.
Hitman 3 will debut on January 20, this year on PCs (on Epic Games Store), PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S. The developers are also planning a version dedicated to Nintendo Switch, which will be released later (in this case, we don't know the specific release date yet) and will use the cloud (we'll play via streaming).
