Hollow Knight: Silksong coming to Summer Game Fest 2025? Release of highly anticipated Metroidvania may be close
The release of Hollow Knight: Silksong may be coming soon. New changes have been spotted in the Steam database, and new leaks suggest the reveal of another trailer at one of the upcoming shows.

The anticipated Hollow Knight: Silksong may soon finally be released. The latest changes in the Steam database (via SteamDB) and leaks suggest this.
Changes in the Steam database
While looking through the database of Steam game modifications, it can be noticed that several hours ago, ten language versions for Silksong achievements were added, as well as an age category for upcoming trailers. Moreover, fans discovered the uploading of additional files to the servers of Valve's platform.
The devs usually make such changes shortly before the release of the title, so players can hope for a quick release of the sequel. The game is reportedly going to be released in 2025, which was confirmed during the April Nintendo Direct.
Rumors about Hollow Knight: Silksong
The above suspicions are fueled by leaks related to Hollow Knight: Silksong published on Reddit. According to one of the users, citing a "reliable source," the trailer for the title will be shown at the upcoming Summer Game Fest, which is on June 6, 2025. It's been supposedly uploaded to YouTube's database, but the content is not available to the public yet.
Furthermore, the final version of the game was supposed to be sent to Microsoft and Nintendo for certification, which would prove that Silksong is ready for release on their consoles. All these information suggest that the sequel will appear soon, possibly even in June.
Of course, despite everything, it's better to be cautious and take this information with a grain of salt until it's potentially confirmed. Nonetheless, it should be noted that these aren't the first clues indicating the imminent launch of the second Hollow Knight, more than 6 years after the announcement of Silksong.
Apparently, Team Cherry doesn't see the need to promote their game before its release, much to the slight irritation of their fans. Another thing is that this is not the only developer who opted for a sudden release, without preceding it with an announcement.
In September 2025, the game we're discussing will be featured in the Game Worlds exhibition at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, giving visitors a chance to try it out. This is a clear sign that the game will be released this summer. Hollow Knight: Silksong will be released on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
