Hollow Knight: Silksong is a 2D platformer from Team Cherry, a continuation of the hit of 2017. The game offers a great world with a partially open structure, a crafting system and an extensive dexterity combat system, based on acrobatic maneuvers.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is a two-dimensional platformer belonging metroidvania sub-genre. The game is the continuation of Hollow Knight and both titles were developed by Team Cherry.
In terms of gameplay, Hollow Knight: Silksong is a development of the ideas from the first part. So we get a two-dimensional platformer of the metroidvania type, putting a lot of emphasis on both combat and exploration. Maps have a largely open structure, and in addition to the main questline, there is no shortage of side adventures.
While playing, we must avoid pitfalls in the environment, collect items and solve occasional puzzles. We also spend a lot of time on battling our enemies. While playing, we have to face more than 150 new types of enemies. We do this using an acrobatic combat system, and battles are made more attractive by the fact that the heroine has a very different repertoire of moves and attacks than the character from the first part of the series. There is also a crafting system, allowing for the construction of weapons and traps.
In Hollow Knight: Silksong we play as Hornet, the princess of the insect kingdom of Hallownest. She is captured and transported to an unknown domain. She must regain her freedom and discover why she suffered such a fate. A pilgrimage to the highest peak of the land will be necessary to achieve these goals.
Hollow Knight: Silksong only offers the option of having fun solo. Upon completion of the campaign, a new gameplay mode called Challenge Silk Soul will be unlocked, which will dramatically change the rules of fun and is provide a challenge even for veterans.
The soundtrack was composed again by Christopher Larkin.

Hollow Knight: Silksong review: A flawed masterpiece
Hollow Knight: Silksong is a flawed masterpiece. To the right player, it can be one of the greatest games of all time. But that’s only if they are able to look past or easily overcome the grueling, unforgiving challenges that come up regularly. From the world design to the music, characters, and animations, this is a monumental achievement, but had I not been working on this review, I would have given up on Silksong a long time ago. That certainly says something about me as a player, but it also says something about the game, too.

After all this wait, Hollow Knight: Silksong is a masterpiece that demands the player to meet it at its level. Come prepared for a very difficult adventure, and you’ll be mesmerized by its immaculate vibes and beauty.
MMORPG.com: 8 / 10
Despite Hollow Knight Silksong’s relentless difficulty, it’s one of the most rewarding games this year. Pharloom is a lively world with surprises waiting in every corner, and the suspenseful combat and exploration makes Hornet’s arduous journey memorable. Silksong can feel a bit unfair at times, but its challenging nature forces players to adapt and learn to be patient

I’m absolutely thrilled, and even though I sometimes felt frustrated, I’ll remember Silksong as a game I had an incredibly good time with. It’s a project perfectly tailored to its target audience, and since September, fans have been dissecting every little detail searching for story easter eggs. We can probably start counting the decades until Team Cherry’s next project, but before that happens, I hope we’ll still get a few awesome expansions.
