The excitement surrounding Black Myth: Wukong is undeniable, but the game is also putting some PCs to the test, with many players reporting issues like audio problems, intro crash, FPS drops with stuttering, Out of Memory error, and Compatibility Mode not working. However, one of the most pressing concerns is CPU overheating. To prevent damage and ensure a smooth gaming experience, let's look at effective cooling solutions.

Black Myth Wukong – How to Fix High CPU Usage

If you’re experiencing a high temperature on your CPU like other Black Myth: Wukong players, follow these steps to prevent it:

  1. Access the Control Panel by typing it in the search bar at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Find Power Options. You can also use the search bar in the Control Panel if needed.
  3. Make a custom power plan by clicking ‘Create a power plan’, name it, and then click ‘Next’ and finally ‘Create’.
  4. Adjust your power plan by clicking ‘Change plan settings’ and then ‘Change advance power settings’.
  5. Find ‘PCI Express’ and then ‘Link State Power Management’. Select ‘Moderate power savings’ from the options.
  6. Next, locate ‘Processor power management’ and adjust its settings. Set the minimum processor state to 80% and the maximum to 90%. You can gradually increase these values later if your PC can handle it.
  7. Save your changes by clicking ‘Apply’ and then ‘OK’. These adjustments should help reduce your CPU temperature while plying Black Myth: Wukong. Remember, you can use this power plan specifically for this game and switch back to your normal power plan for other activities.

While these settings might result in a minor FPS decrease, it's a small sacrifice compared to risking hardware damage. Closing unnecessary background apps can also help lighten the load on your CPU.
