How to get Dark and Darker Epic migration code and transfer account

Dark and Darker is a dungeon crawler game focused on PvPvE gameplay. Developers from Ironmace, despite the good reception of their production, do not have an easy publishing process. First, legal dispute with Nexon, and now... the removal of the game from the Epic Games Store. Nevertheless, the studio is not giving up in this fight and is not leaving its fans without any help. Dark and Darker migration from EGS to Blacksmith explained
Due to the lack of further support for Dark and Darker on Epic Games Store, developers were forced to transfer accounts from that platform to Blacksmith. On the official Discord channel, Ironmace shared instructions on how to do this, but they were not accurate. Fortunately, fans on Reddit in comment section under the latest patch notes figured it out. If you are the unlucky one who played DaD on EGS, and do not know how to carry out the migration process, here are the detailed instructions.
- Initially, create an account on the Blacksmith platform and install the launcher. Download Dark and Darker from there.
- Now you will have to manually copy the game files from Blacksmith DaD version to EGS Dark and Darker installation folder. Replace all files except .egstore. Fans on Reddit, who have figured out how to do it correctly, shared an image explaining how to do this with the Steam copy, but the process is the same in this case, too.
- Launch Dark and Darker on the Epic Games Store. You should see patch notes for the latest hotfix. If this is not happening, perform a reinstall of the game.
- When the game loads correctly, you will be given the opportunity to use the “Get Migration Code” option. Copy the code you receive, it should be valid for the next 10 minutes. Turn off the game on EGS.
- Launch Dark and Darker on Blacksmith, there you will be offered the option “Transfer My Account”, click on it.
- Paste the previously obtained code into the field that appears to you and click “Link Account”.
- Now just click the “Done” button and restart the game.
