Immortals: Fenyx Rising Leak Reveals a Sequel of Sorts

Reports have surfaced online that the developers of Immortals: Fenyx Rising are working on a new game from the same franchise.

1. The source is journalist Jeff Grubb, who has a very good reputation for leaks. He revealed the information in a new episode of the Game Mess Decides podcast.
2. The game is expected to be more of a spin-off than a traditional sequel.
3. The project's provisional title is Oxygen.
4. The gameis to be based on Polynesian culture.
5. The game will still have heavily stylized graphics, but they are supposed to be more unique this time and will not resemble The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
6. The project is currently in pre-production and its release may not take place until 2025..
7. The game is once again being developed by Ubisoft Quebec, the same team that created Immortals: Fenyx Rising.

Immortals: Fenyx Rising was released in December 2020 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. The game is also available on the Google Stadia streaming service.

The game received a warm reception - the PC version boasts an average rating of 79% on Metacritic - and received three expansions. The first two, namely A New God and Myths of the Eastern Realm, are classic DLCs, offering mainly new adventures and locations. It was different with the third expansion (The Lost Gods), which significantly changed the gameplay, introducing a bird's-eye view and stronger RPG elements.
