How to chase away scorpions in the Sanctuary of the Guardians?

- After you solve the Gold Mask puzzle in the Sanctuary of the Guardians fieldwork in Giza, the main characters will fall into the lower chamber of the tomb. There are a lot of scorpions in the area - you have to avoid them, because each sting means losing part of your health bar. In extreme cases, you can make Indy die quickly.
- Use the lighter to light Gina's torch and stay close to your companion while she wards off the scorpions. Follow Gina and grab the chain to unlock a new passage.

- In the next room there is a torch on the ground next to a skeleton. Pick it up and take the lighter from your inventory to light the torch.

- Simply having a lit torch is not enough to avoid scorpions. You have to wave the torch to temporarily scare away the scorpions - to do this, press the attack button.
- Remember that swinging the torch uses up Indy's stamina - avoid depleting it completely, as you will then temporarily lose your defense against the scorpions.

- Further into the exploration of the scorpion tomb you need to find a weakened wall. Find a two-handed weapon, drop the torch, reach the wall with the weapon and break through to the other side.
- Use a lighter to light a small barricade - you will leave the area with the scorpions.

- Later in the quest you will visit another area with scorpions. You can give Gina a boost - the companion will reach the mirror and can redirect light rays.

- You need to grab the ledge and move to the right. Sunlight can temporarily scare away scorpions.

You may also encounter scorpions while exploring other locations on the Giza map. Here are some helpful tips:
- A lighter alone is not enough to keep scorpions away. Only a lit torch can do this. Try to look for extinguished torches in the area, e.g. on stands on the walls.
- Scorpions cannot be killed with firearms or melee weapons. Stomping on them will not work, too.
- If you don't have a torch, run and jump. Also, try to complete the necessary actions to move on as quickly as possible.
- In some locations you can turn on generators. Illuminating the area with lamps can drive away any scorpions that may be living there.
How to scare away the scorpions when Indy is trapped?

- In the final part of the main quest The Idol of Ra the main character will find himself in a problematic situation - Indy gets be trapped in the ground and scorpions will come towards him.
- You cannot ignore the scorpions, because after a few stings the hero will die. Instead, press the blow button (right mouse button) to chase away scorpions temporarily.
- After a few of them line up in front of Indy, watch which scorpion plans to use its sting. Don't blow the air mindlessly, as it drains Indy's stamina and once it's depleted, you'll be defenseless for a few moments.
- After some time, allies will arrive and help Indy get out of the ground.
